Petitioner Disapproves Of Lamorde’s Handling Of Allegations Against Akpabio

An Abuja-based lawyer, Leo Ekpeyong, who petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on alleged sleaze carried out by Senator Godswill Akpabio when he was Governor of Akwa Ibom State, has expressed dissatisfaction with the manner of investigation carried out by the anti-graft agency on the matter.
Expressing his discontent in a letter addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, the petitioner questioned the style of investigation and called for Lamorde to be relieved of his duty over lack of transparency.
“We make bold to pass a vote of no confidence on the leadership of the EFCC. Ibrahim Lamorde must resign now to pave way for an efficient but effective and courageous, incorruptible leadership,” he stated.
Ekpenyong said he was not satisfied with the investigation processes carried out by the commission into issues raised in the petition.
