Please Help Me Beg Militants, Buhari Tells APC Leaders.

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to help him pacify rampaging militants in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
Lamenting the effect of attacks on oil installations, the president said the country does not need such a distraction at this point in time.

He said the militants were in possession of sophisticated equipment, adding that unlike the Boko Haram sect which has one faction, the militants are in so many groups, suggesting that government has been having challenges relating with them.

Avengers Ask Buhari To Conduct Referendum On Nigeria


Militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to conduct a referendum to determine whether Nigerians want to remain as one or not.
The group posted the demand on their Twitter handle @NDAvengers Saturday afternoon, making reference to the historic exit of Great Britain from the European Union on Friday, through a referendum which has led to the resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron.

Polling Stations Close at Brexit Referendum

Polling stations across Britain have closed, as Britons have made their choice on whether they need to continue the country's membership in the European Union, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

No exit polls are expected at this referendum, therefore the world will get the idea of the vote's outcome only as the results appear throughout the night. Final result will be announced Friday morning.

Woman bags 4 years in jail for slitting her 12-year-old niece's neck and hand, with a blade

Funmi Otitoloju was arrested for allegedly brutalising her 12-year-old niece, Adeola, at their home in Baiyeku, Ikorodu, Lagos. She allegedly used a razor blade to cut the girl in the neck and hand because she entered other people’s apartments without her permission.

FG Clears 12 Months Of Arrears Owed Pensioners

The Federal Government has cleared 12 months arrears out of the backlog of 42 months arrears of the 33 per cent pension increase owed pensioners in the country.

The gesture came as the beneficiaries urged the government to ensure that the balance of 30 months was completed early so that the could enjoy the fruits of their labour and other benefits while still alive.

19-Year-Old Girl Commits Suicide In Lagos After Fight With Boyfriend

LAGOS—Tragedy struck at Alhaji Ede Avenue in Igando area of Lagos, after a 19-year-old lady allegedly committed suicide following a quarrel with her lover.

The deceased, Uche Obiora, was said to have visited her lover’s home over the weekend.

There were, however, different accounts as to how the tragedy struck.

According to Arican88, "Abdulgafar Ajenifuja left the house yesterday after an interview with him in his parent house at Ikorodu, Ajenifuja Alejo street, Benson road, on Saturday.

During the interview he said that his mother, Mojisola Jaqueen Ajenifuja, gave him a deep cut on his head Friday because she ordered him to wash plates but he told her to give him more time to study for the practical he will be having the next day.

The Lagos State Government on Monday warned residents to keep off the Ogun River, near the Kara Cattle Market which was recently blocked by vegetation, saying that the river could open up at any time with dire consequences.

Okinawans Finally Snap After Decades of US Military Depravity

The protest of Okinawans on Sunday is the latest in more than half a century of discontent with the presence of thousands of US troops on the island.


On Sunday 65,000 Okinawa residents held their biggest rally since 1995 to protest the presence of US bases on the island, over the high number of crimes committed by US troops stationed there.
The southwestern Japanese island hosts most of the US military personnel in Japan, of which there are over 50,000 in total, as well as 40,000 dependents and another 5,500 American civilians employed there by the US Department of Defense.

In Owerri, man mistakenly slaps wife to death after returning from vigil

The Imo Police Command has arrested Onyekachi Anele, a 36-year-old father-of-two, for mistakenly murdering his wife, Chikodi, 32, after returning from a vigil, The Sun reports. Trouble allegedly started on June 1, 2016, when Chikodi, 32, asked him to give her son from an earlier marriage, N100 to take to school.

Anele said: “I got married to Chikodi over four years ago. She had a son for another man before we got married. We have been living together in peace. On May 31, 2016, I went to my church, Jesus Disciples Fellowship, where we had a vigil. I came back around 5: 30 am and started playing Christian music.

Three people allegedly electrocuted by a faulty streetlight pole at kosofe bus stop, Lagos


The sad incidence reportedly took place yesterday, between glass house mile and kosofe bus stop, Mile 12, Lagos, as they were trying to cross an iron barricade on the ikorodu expressway. .

According to Newseveryhour, the state government recently barricaded the road-divider around the area, with iron rails, to force people to use the newly built pedestrian bridge, instead of crossing the road.
