The Federal Government on Thursday declared that the delay currently been experienced in the execution of capital projects, as captured in the N6.06trillion 2016 budget is due to procurement procedure and low level of revenue generation.
Speaking while appearing at a meeting organized by the Senate Committee on Appropriation, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, said the problem arose from the six months requirement for procurement process on execution of new projects as provided for, in the Public Procurement Act.

Terror attack kills at least 82 people in Nice, France

Scores of people were killed last night when a large truck plowed through a Bastille Day crowd in Nice, France, in what is seen as a terror attack. The death toll grew through the night, with at least 80 people died. Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said 80 people were killed.. The driver first shot a gun into the crowd before driving 2km along the Promenade des Anglais, the main street in Nice, mowing down people who had gathered to watch fireworks. 7-year-old boy detained for over month for accidentally killing someone, regains freedom

Chibuike Miracle Oramalu was released this evening in Enugu State, Punchng reports. The primary two pupil has been detained since May 30, after accidentally firing a gun, which killed a 12-year-old boy, Oluebube Boniface, in the Independence Layout area of Enugu.

Mom of 7-year-old boy being detained by the Police over an alleged murder, cries out

Chibuike Oramalu, has been detained by the Enugu State Police Command for the alleged murder of a 12-year-old boy, Oluebube Boniface, on May 29, 2016, Punchng reports. According to his mom, Nwakaego Oramalu, a single mother-of-five, Chibuike has been in detention since May 30.

She said the incident happened at a residence where she worked as a housekeeper. Her words: “On May 29, while I was away in church, my boss’ son, Chukwunanu Oforma, an NYSC member, asked Chibuike and his 10-year-old brother, Ifeanyi, to tidy up a room belonging to his father.

Another white cop 'ambushed' during traffic stop and shot in the neck by a black man

Yesterday morning, a St. Louis-area police officer was "ambushed" during a traffic stop. The cop was walking back to his patrol car after ticketing a driver for speeding in Ballwin, a suburb of St. Louis. .

The driver, Antonio Taylor, 31, got out of his pulled-over car, shot the officer in the neck and fled. The Ballwin officer was rushed to a local hospital in critical but stable condition, Ballwin Chief Kevin Scott said.

Benue State born Timothy Addigi Terfa designed and built the tractor, which is 100% Nigerian, with a team of skilled individuals. He called the tractor, Ijodo, meaning labour in the Tiv language. .
