Officer Darren Wilson says he has a clear conscience over the shooting death of Michael Brown, and would do it again if he finds himself in the same situation.

He spoke with ABC's George Stephanopoulos and said that if it'd been a white person he still would have fired his gun, that race had nothing to do with it. He said Brown had reached into his patrol car and attempted to grab his gun, and the teen had charged at him which is when he began shooting.

BoI to Award 220 MSMEs Loans per Annum

President Goodluck Jonathan stated his administration will ensure all state capitals in Nigeria are linked by rail to boost the nation’s economy. The President said this in London during the 17th meeting of the Honorary International Investment Council (HIIC), themed, “Rail Transportation.” Jonathan said with such nationwide rail coverage, roads and highways would be better maintained, adding, “If we do not link state capitals by rail, our roads will not last.”

5,300 Farmers to Get 1.4bn Naira from BoA

In line with the transformation efforts of President Goodluck Jonathan in the area of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME), about 5,300 cassava farmers are to receive N1.4 billion out of the N9.9 billion SME fund from Bank of Agriculture (BoA) to cultivate 11,000 hectares of cassava. Also farmers cultivating 8,000 hectares of cassava have been provided with N1.1 billion.

Malaria: Niger To Get 2.7m Treated Mosquito Nets

In accordance to President Goodluck Jonathan’s efforts to eradicate malaria in Nigeria, the National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) is set to distribute 2.7 million treated mosquito nets across the 25 local government areas of Niger State.

The Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke stated this at a follow-up meeting of technical working groups in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday.

FG to Set Up Cultural Centre in Abuja

In order to replicate the National Theatre in Abuja, President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration engaged an Italian company, Studio Nicoletti and Associates to construct the Nigeria Cultural Centre and Millennium Tower in the Federal Capital City (FCT). The cultural centre consists of a 170-metre tower would be home to a 1,200-seat auditorium, museums, galleries, cultural centre, top notch hotel, fitness centre, restaurants and shoe shops.

Unlike many title holders, the Alake of Egbaland HRH Oba Michael Adedotun Gbadebo is married to only one woman, Olori Tokunbo, and they have been married for 43 years. They say he's the only long serving Oba in this country with only one wife. He became Alake of Egbaland in 2005.

The Oba revealed recently at a wedding where he was the chairman that he still shares the same bed with his wife and mother of his children, this was after he praised her for being an incredible partner. He said they have a strong bond and he never had the need to marry another woman.

On the killing of students in Uni Jos: the military has two weeks to. Ensure justice

  It is with a deep heart and sorrow over the reports that Nigerian military shot dead two students protesting in uni jos on 25 of november. The students who were protesting relatively peaceful were sent to their graves by the forces who swore to defend our dear country.
   The protest who were protesting over a sudden 100 percent increase of tuition fees from 10 thousand, to 20 thousand naira. That development made the student to protest in order to call the attention of the university management to stop the proposed increment.

I'm a cancer survivor- Prof. Wole Soyinka says

Literary Icon, Prof Wole Soyinka, revealed today at a press conference in Abeokuta Ogun state, that he's a cancer survivor. He said his appointment as a board member of the African Cancer Centre made him undergo a routine checkup last year which revealed he had cancer. He said he diagnosed with the disease in December 2013.

"It never occurred to me to test myself because men have their separate test like women and I have heard people who lost very dear ones, closed ones. They just told me, ‘Prof, we hope you’re having your own?’ And I told them I had one 10 years ago and he said, “No, no, do it regularly.” And by accident in December last year, I discovered that I had cancer.”.

According to TMZ, a judge has ordered Gabriel to stop what he's doing with Nahla's hair. He ruled that neither Halle nor Gabriel could change Nahla's look from its natural state moving forward. The judge is allowing Nahla's hair to grow back naturally.

2 female suicide bombers reportedly blew themselves up today at the Maiduguri Monday market in Borno state, killing at least 30 people. The bomb explosions happened at about 11.30am.

Central Bank of Nigeria devalues Naira, puts exchange rate at 168 Naira to a dollar

After a dwindling oil price in international market, the Central Bank of Nigeria today announced the devaluation of the Naira, pegging the Dollar to Naira exchange rate at N168 to a dollar from the N155 it was previously.

Announcing the newest exchange rate at the apex bank’s Monetary Policy Committee meeting in Abuja, the Central Bank Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele said the devaluation of the Naira from the dollar would be to strengthen the Nigerian currency in the face area of the falling international oil price. He called on the Federal government and the National Assembly to speed up the method towards the immediate passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill, PIB, which has been pending passage for days gone by two years.
