Who Wants Our President Dead?

by Olalekan Waheed Adigun
What started as a big joke suddenly became a reality. In a desperate bid to stop the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari the heat of the 2015 presidential election, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, the Ekiti state Governor, did the unthinkable. He single-handedly placed an “obituary” of a living person on the front pages of The Punch and The Sun (January 19, 2015). What was his reason for this: “Will you allow history to repeat itself? Enough of State burials.”

Senate: 12 Controversies In 12 Months

1 Emergence of Saraki
The emergence of Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki (APC, Kwara Central), as the Senate President on June 9, 2015, in what was described as an “apparent disregard” to the directive of the All Progressives Congress (APC), laid the foundation of the controversies that has enveloped the upper chamber.

Saraki, a former governor of Kwara State, edged out Senator Ahmad Lawan (APC, Yobe North), the preferred candidate of the APC to clinch the Senate’s plum job, after allegedly resting on the strength of senators of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP). The alliance apparently paved the way for the emergence of Senator Ike Ekweremadu, (PDP, Enugu West), as the Deputy Senate President, a development that dealt a serious blow to the APC’s control
of the upper chamber.

My Experience As A Corp Member In Benue State.

I remember the first time I saw my call up letter,I felt like the whole world had trembled on my feet. I felt sad and angry, ready to pour out my anger on anybody who came my way.
I remember not being serious about the whole camp thing anymore. I remember buying all my things a day before leaving.
At first,I was a bit confused on how I was going to get to the camp in Benue state. I remember going to the NYSC section on NL searching for corp members who were posted to the same state. Luckily for me, I found a bunch of then and I was added to a whatsapp group which was created by one of the monikers.

Ekweremadu, PDP Hypocrisy - By Jonathan Nda-Isaiah

Jonathan Nda-Isaiah

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will never cease to amaze me. There are better odds for finding virgins in the maternity ward or Nigeria to be corruption free than for the PDP to shed its spots of hypocrisy and self-delusion.

Last week, leaders of PDP, and governors of the south-east rose from a meeting in Enugu Government House and warned against awarding road contracts in the south-east to incompetent contractors.
