Ekweremadu, PDP Hypocrisy - By Jonathan Nda-Isaiah

Jonathan Nda-Isaiah

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will never cease to amaze me. There are better odds for finding virgins in the maternity ward or Nigeria to be corruption free than for the PDP to shed its spots of hypocrisy and self-delusion.

Last week, leaders of PDP, and governors of the south-east rose from a meeting in Enugu Government House and warned against awarding road contracts in the south-east to incompetent contractors.

History would record this monumental feat as one of the biggest miracles of our time. It was a testimony to the power of resilience and tenacity.

When Did APC/Buharists Become Patriotic?

Yesterday, March 20, 2016, I went to Tecno office in Maryland (Lagos) to make enquiries on one of their new product(L8). While there, I met with a staff, who is also a chronic follower of  Politics section and a core Buharist. This staff/Buharist started lamenting how PDP guys pick sides with individuals and groups that are against the FG (specifically NDA and IPOB), the act he termed "unpatriotic". I listened to his wailing a and asked him a simple question, WHEN DID APC REALISE THE NEED FOR PATRIOTISM?

In case APC has forgotten, it is good to remind them how "patriotic" they were all through the life of former President Ebele Jonathan with respect to the war against BH Terrorists.

U.S 'Gargantuan' Military Budget: Washington's only real enemy is peace.

War is a profitable business, they say, - so much so, it seems, that the US has placed it at the heart of its economy. This is why US politicians and military officials have claimed that Russia poses a threat to their nation and its allies, analyst Finian Cunningham asserted, adding that Washington's only real enemy is peace.

Just take a look at the US' discretionary spending, he urged. In 2015, the US military budget (nearly $600 billion) made up 53 percent of those funds.
