Atiku Salutes Kogi People, Says Nigeria’s Democracy Enriched

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), congratulates the entire people and government of Kogi State, as well as the political and opinion leaders of the state, on the successful conclusion of the supplementary governorship election in the state.
The former Vice President also commends the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its efforts. He said that the fact that the election resulted in a clear winner after all the doubts, tension, uncertainty, stresses and strains, is a testimony to the fact that the people of the state are resilient and peace- loving and that when adhered to, the tenets of democracy tends to yield an outcome satisfying to the people.

In a press statement signed by his Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe in Abuja over the weekend and released through his media office, the Turaki Adamawa states that the outcome of the election has to a significant extent enriched the nation’s democracy because it has shown that Nigerians can manage complex situations and yet make something out of it to the satisfaction of all concerned.
The former Vice President commends the Governor- elect, Mr. Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) expressing gratitude to the people of the state for entrusting their affairs to a member and candidate of his party, the APC.

Atiku Abubakar enjoins the Governor-elect to carry everyone along as he sets out to organize his government for the good of the party and the people of the state at large.
The Turaki further advises the aggrieved to respect the memory of the late former Governor of the State, Prince Abubakar Audu, who was coasting to victory before his untimely and sudden death, by availing themselves of the known Constitutional ways of seeking redress after an election.
The Turaki opines that the peaceful and conclusive manner the polls ended show indeed that the late Prince Abubakar Audu was beloved by his people and that they are determined to keep faith with his ideals by giving the vote to the late Audu’s political party, the APC.
The former Vice President further commends the national leadership of the APC for its maturity and wisdom in directing affairs of the party in Kogi State at a crucial and testy time, adding that this single-minded and focused leadership yielded the victory for which all Nigerians are justly proud.
